Hands of Agape operates as a non-profit 501c3 organization based in Central California. While physically located in Central California, our mission extends to serve all skilled nursing home residents throughout the state.
Hands of Agape is currently seeking compassionate volunteers in Central California to visit with skilled nursing home residents. Volunteers will provide companionship to residents to help reduce loneliness and build meaningful connection.

Our history
Founded in 2022 by Mao Lee, a seasoned business development professional, Hands of Agape is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the unmet needs of skilled nursing home residents.
Before founding Hands of Agape, Mao worked closely with skilled nursing home facilities throughout California, where she witnessed firsthand the challenges many residents face. Today, more than 77,500 individuals live in skilled nursing home facilities across the state, many of whom experience loneliness and limited resources that can enhance their quality of life.
Mao was especially touched by the relationships she developed with residents and by the stories and challenges they shared. She saw that beyond quality medical care, many residents longed for companionship, meaningful experiences, personal necessities, and opportunities to feel connected to the world around them.
Although Mao wanted to help every resident, she recognized that significant change could not be accomplished alone. It would require a community of compassionate individuals, organizations, volunteers, and donors working together toward a common purpose. That vision became the foundation of Hands of Agape.
Hands of Agape is committed to bringing hope, dignity, connection, and meaningful experiences to skilled nursing home residents. With the generosity and support of our community, we can reach more residents, meet critical needs, and create moments that remind them that they are loved and not forgotten.

Hands of Agape is a non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated to enriching the lives of skilled nursing home residents in California by showing God's love through the provision of goods, services, and resources. Our mission is to enrich the quality of life for these residents, addressing their unique needs and fostering a sense of compassion and community.
